News and Events

One year is passed so quickly. Really time passes very speedily.  I can still remember 25th June 2009; I just woke up from my bed and read the yahoo news where I found that heartbreaking news. I was really shocked.

The King of the Pop, Michael Jackson died after he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. Personally He is my favorite singer. I can remember that we did all our drill performances on His songs. Some songs are really favorite to me. I wrote this article to His Honor.

His full name was Michael Joseph Jackson .He was an American recording artist, entertainer, and philanthropist.

Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, the eighth of ten children to an African American working-class family.

Referred to as the King of Pop, Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. His contribution to music, dance and fashion, along with a much-publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. The eighth child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene alongside his brothers as a member of The Jackson 5 in the mid-1960s, and began his solo career in 1971.

Since starting his singing career with his brothers in the group the Jackson Five Michael Jackson has continued to entertain with his singing and dancing. In the eighties Michael Jackson was crowned the King of Pop it's a title that he never relinquished until 2009 when he passed away. It is hard to think of Michael Jackson's top ten songs as he had so many. His album Thriller was released in 1982 and still holds the record of the biggest selling album ever.

Here is a list of my favorite Jackson songs.

1. Beat It

Beat It was written by Michael Jackson and he told Rolling Stone during an interview that when he was writing this song he wanted to write the type of rock song that he personally would go out and buy.

2. Thriller

It is the best-selling album of all time. This song was written by Rod Temperton and produced by Quincy Jones and is probably the first Michael Jackson song someone would name if they were put on the spot, that's how huge it's impact was.

3. Heal the World

This  is a song from Michael Jackson's hit album, Dangerous, released in 1991. The music video features children living in countries suffering from unrest especially Burundi. It is also one of only a handful of Michael Jackson's videos not to feature Jackson himself, the others being "Cry", "HIStory" and "Man in the Mirror". (The clips for "HIStory" and "Man in the Mirror" only feature Michael Jackson in archival footage). Jackson performed the song in the Super Bowl XXVII halftime show with a 35,000 person flash card performance.

4. Billie Jean

It  is a dance-pop/R&B song. It was written by Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones for the singer's sixth solo album, Thriller(1982). Originally disliked by Jones, the track was almost removed from the album after he and Jackson had disagreements regarding it. There are contradictory claims to what the song's lyrics refer to. One suggests that they are derived from a real-life experience, in which a mentally ill female fan claimed that Jackson had fathered one of her twins. Jackson himself, however, stated that "Billie Jean" was based on groupies he had encountered. The song is well known for its distinctive bass line and Jackson's vocal hiccups. The song was mixed 91 times by audio engineer Bruce Swedien before he finalized the song with the second mix.

5. Black or White

It  is the lead single from Michael Jackson's Dangerous album. It was released on November 8, 1991 as the album's lead single. "Black or White" is a mix of rock, and dance-pop. It was written, composed, and arranged by Jackson with the rap lyrics by Bill Bottrell, the song promotes racial harmony. The song's introduction and main riff are performed by Slash and Bill Bottrell.

6.The Way You Make Me Feel

This song is a released by Epic Records in November 1987, it was the third single from Jackson's seventh studio album Bad. Written by Jackson and produced by Jackson and Quincy Jones, the song is credited as being a pop, funk and R&B song. The lyrics pertain to being in love with someone. Aside from appearing on Jackson's Bad album, the song has also been featured on the first disc of Jackson's complication album HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I in 1995 and This Is It in 2009. "The Way You Make Me Feel" has been covered by multiple recording artists since its release.

7. You Are My Life

This song is written and composed by Michael Jackson, Babyface, McClain, Sager. And the album name is Invincible.

8. Cry:

This song is a song recorded from studio album, Invincible (2001). The song was written by R&B singer-songwriter R. Kelly, who had previously wrote Jackson's 1995 single "You Are Not Alone". "Cry" was produced by Jackson and Kelly. It was released in December 2001 under Epic Records as the third and last single from Invincible . "Cry" is a R&B ballad, with lyrics that highlight problems with the planet. The lyrics also urge people to unite to make the world a better place. The track, thus, recalls previous Jackson songs that promote peace and environmentalism.
